The day began as part of National Community Policing Week in 2016 and now continues each year on the first Wednesday in October furthering efforts nationwide to bridge the gap between the community and law enforcement.  Since that day in 2016, the East Hartford Police Department has hosted regular programs dedicated to encouraging communication and positive interactions between law enforcement and the public.  No agenda, no speeches.  Talk with police about your neighborhood, ask questions, share concerns, or stop by just to chat.

“Events like this provide access and opportunity for distraction-free conversations between East Hartford Police Officers and folks within the community we serve,” said Police Chief Scott Sansom.  “If you have a few moments, please stop by for a friendly chat.  Everyone is welcome,” Sansom added.

The Coffee With A Cop program is recognized worldwide for building community trust and partnership.  The event is open to the public.

                                           All are welcome!
