The new school year is right around the corner. What can be better than finishing up your summer vacation with our "Ice Cream with a Cop"?

The next East Hartford Police "Ice Cream With A Cop" will take place from 12:00PM to 2:00PM on Wednesday, August 21st at Dairy Queen, 435 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut. All are welcome.

First there was Coffee With A Cop, then Sandwich With A Cop.  Why not Ice Cream With A Cop? While the warm weather is still here and before school is back in session, the East Hartford Police Department is happy to announce this sweet expansion of our Community Outreach programs.  By popular demand, all community members are invited to join East Hartford Police Officers once again this summer—over an ice cream cone—to discuss issues of concern and learn more about each other. There is no agenda, no speeches. Talk about your neighborhood, ask questions, share concerns, or stop by just to chat. If you were unable to stop by at the last "Ice Cream With A Cop" this past June, here is another chance! And if you visited us at our June "Ice Cream With a Cop" program, come see us again!

“We’re excited to be able to host this event again this summer. Opportunities like this to join together with the community have proven to strengthen our communication and partnership,” said Police Chief Scott Sansom.  “Such positive relationships build trust.  It’s effective policing, which translates into safer communities,” Sansom added.  “What better way to spend some time with an officer and chat – than over an ice cream cone?  All are welcome.”
