For Immediate Release - Assault with Firearm 840 Main Street
East Hartford, CT - On Friday, October 15, 2021 shortly before 1:00 PM East Hartford Police responded to 860 Main Street for a reported shooting inside the hallway of the upper-floor apartments. Responding Officers quickly located an adult male victim outside the building suffering from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the arm. He was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The adult male suspect barricaded himself inside a 4th floor apartment, and remained there until EHPD Tactical Team and Negotiators succeeded with the suspect surrendering without further incident. There were no other injuries. Detectives are collecting evidence on scene, investigation is ongoing. Suspect ID and charges are pending.
