East Hartford Police Invites the Community to the National Night Out

East Hartford, CT - East Hartford Police Department is proud to announce its participation in the annual National Night Out event at Alumni Park on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 from 5-8 P.M. This nationwide initiative aims to strengthen community bonds, enhance neighborhood unity, and promote positive interactions between law enforcement agencies and residents.

National Night Out is an evening dedicated to fostering community spirit and building strong relationships between local law enforcement and the communities they serve. By joining forces and taking a stand against crime, East Hartford residents demonstrate their commitment to creating a safer and more secure environment for all.

This year's National Night Out event promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with a wide range of activities planned for participants of all ages. There will be safety informational sessions, K-9 Demonstrations, food and refreshments, and a full display of our Police equipment.  There will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Highlights of East Hartford's National Night Out event include:

  1. Community Gatherings: Neighborhoods across East Hartford will come alive with a lively block party at Alumni Park, where residents can connect with their neighbors, share a meal, and have conversations about local safety initiatives.
  2. Safety Demonstrations: East Hartford Police will conduct interactive safety demonstrations, educating residents about crime prevention techniques, emergency preparedness, and fostering a sense of personal safety.
  3. Children's Activities: Various fun-filled activities, including face painting, games, and a bounce house, will be available to entertain and engage children, reinforcing the importance of community and safety at an early age.
  4. Meet-and-Greet with Law Enforcement: Residents will have the opportunity to meet and interact with local law enforcement officers, fostering positive relationships and open lines of communication between the community and the police.
  5. Informational Sessions: Experts from local organizations will offer valuable information on various topics such as neighborhood watch programs, home security, and community resources, empowering residents to take an active role in keeping their neighborhoods safe.
