East Hartford Police Department Invites You to Participate in the Citizen Police Academy

East Hartford, CT - Chief Scott M. Sansom and the East Hartford Police Department announce the upcoming thirteenth session of the East Hartford Citizen Police Academy.

The Citizen Police Academy is geared towards citizens who reside, work, own a business, or are a student in East Hartford. This is a unique opportunity for citizens to learn about their police department and the work they perform in the community.  The academy provides an overview of police operations, practices, and objectives.

“East Hartford has one of the finest Police Departments in the State and that’s because of the men and women who serve as our Police Officers. The Citizen Academy is a behind the scenes look at what makes our PD special where residents are offered the opportunity to see firsthand how exemplary police work is performed,” said Mayor Mike Walsh. “The Academy is a great place to meet the men and women of the EHPD personally and to see their training and individual approach to work. Participation and completion in the Academy allows citizens to walk away with a greater appreciation of the whole body of work that keeps our community safe, so I encourage everyone to attend if they have the chance!”

“The Citizen Academy is a great opportunity for members of our community to not only become better acquainted with the Police Department, but to also understand the rationale behind police operations,” said Police Chief Sansom.
