EH Recycles! Comes to the Robert J. O'Brien STEM Academy

(July 31, 2015) EAST HARTFORD, CT– On July 20, Assistant Principal Corrie Schram of the Robert J. O’Brien STEM Academy invited East Hartford Recycles! to speak to students at the Langford School as part of the summer school program’s “beach week.” Students learned how litter can harm marine animals and that a large portion of marine debris is made of plastics. Children used the three “R’s” – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, to come up with ideas for keeping trash out of East Hartford’s waterways. Each student received a Rocky the Recycling Raccoon coloring book, crayons, and recycling information to take home to their parents.

East Hartford Recycles! is an educational program of the East Hartford Department of Public Works. Questions about East Hartford Recycles! and any general recycling questions may be answered by calling (860) 291-7363.  Information is also available on the website www.easthartfordct.gov
