Cemeteries
The East Hartford Cemetery Division has implemented guidance to their standard operations to ensure safety and welfare of our employees, residents and their families.
- Full casket interments will be subject to the following procedures when arriving at graveside funerals:
- Upon arrival, only pallbearers will exit vehicles to bring the casket to graveside. *Please note: Cemetery employees will NOT act as pallbearers.
- Cemetery employees will meet and secure the casket at the gravesite.
- Once the casket is positioned for the service, Cemetery employees will leave the immediate area during the funeral.
- After Cemetery employees have left the gravesite, funeral attendees may exit their vehicles and congregate graveside for the service.
- Upon completion of the service, funeral attendees will return to their vehicles and exit the cemetery.
- Once funeral attendees have cleared the area, Cemetery employees will return to the grave site and perform regular procedures to complete the interment.
The Town will fully abide by the Governors Executive Orders regarding gathering limitations, facemasks and distancing protocols when appropriate.
