These skills clinics are free events, open to residents as well as non-residents.  Participants are asked to pre-register by calling 860-291-7160.

We will have employment applications available on site for those who haven’t yet applied for current Lifeguard job openings.   Potential Lifeguards must be at least 15 years old and have current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguarding or be able to successfully complete a course prior to the start of the summer season.  Lifeguards are assigned to one of the town’s outdoor pools, and typically work a varied schedule including nights and weekends.  The starting rate for new lifeguards this summer will be $13.25 per hour.  Working for East Hartford Parks and Recreation is a fun, rewarding experience!

The Parks and Recreation Department is offering two upcoming Lifeguarding certification courses this spring.  Those who are seeking certification are encouraged to register for the courses early as spaces are limited.  More information about our upcoming certification courses is available online at www.easthartfordct.gov/parks-recreation and participants may register now at www.ehparks.org.
