East Hartford Eats Contest Rules and Guidelines

Supporting local businesses is crucial now, more than ever. Our local restaurants need your support today to ensure they can keep their doors open for years to come. While you cannot currently eat-in at one of our local restaurants, many are open for takeout, curbside pickup, delivery, or gift card purchases.
To help support our local restaurants, the Town of East Hartford is holding a contest with prizes of gift cards to local East Hartford restaurants, in the amount of $50 each, to fifteeen lucky winners. (Thanks to a generous donation, the number of winners has incresed from five to fifteen, and the contest has been extended by one week.) Gift cards have no independent retail value, and may only be utilized at the restaurant(s) indicated.
East Hartford Eats Rules and Guidelines:
- To participate, individuals should submit a photo, scan or a screen capture of a receipt from any East Hartford restaurant dated April 10, 2020 or later, along with the participant’s name and e-mail address HERE. The receipt either must be from a restaurant exclusively located in East Hartford or clearly show an East Hartford address. Participants may enter up to four times per person, with a different receipt required for each entry. Each person is only eligible to win a maximum of one prize. Employees of the Town of East Hartford, and members of their immediate household, are not eligible for prizes. All winners and entrants agree that: (i) their name may be released by the Town of East Hartford for publicity purposes; and (ii) their name and e-mail address may be subject to disclosure under the State of Connecticut’s Freedom of Information laws.
- Following the May 15, 2020 close of the period for entries, The Office of Planning and Development will select 15 winners on May 18, 2020 using Excel’s random number generator. Numbers will be drawn until there are five separate winners, as one participant cannot win more than one prize. Winners will be contacted via e-mail to arrange for sending the prize to them. Gift cards will be purchased from five separate restaurants, and selection of restaurant will be assigned randomly to winners. Should a winner fail to claim the gift card within ten days of notice, they shall become ineligible for the gift card and a new winner will be selected using the above procedure.
The deadline to enter into the drawing is May 15, 2020 at 11:59 PM.
