The Business and Community Development Department supports East Hartford's growth and vitality through coordinated efforts in economic development, planning, community investment, and regulatory services.  The department includes four core divisions:  Economic Development, Inspections & Permits, Planning, and Grants.  The Inspections & Permits Division includes Zoning, Building, and Property Maintenance ensuring that development and property upkeep comply with local and state regulations.  Together, these divisions help attract investment, support local businesses, and provide efficient services to residents and developers.
