Town of East Hartford Fair Housing Policy

It is the policy of the Town of East Hartford to promote fair housing opportunities and encourage racial and economic integration in all its housing programs.

Town of East Hartford programs administered through the Town’s Grants Administration Office will comply specifically with provisions of the U.S. Civil Rights Act of 1866, Connecticut Fair Housing Law and The Federal Title VIII Statute and the Connecticut General Statutes 46a-64c that prohibit discriminatory housing practices.

The Town of East Hartford provides available housing assistance programs without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, creed, sexual orientation, marital status, lawful source of income, disability, age or familial status.

The Housing Planning Analyst has been designated by the Town’s Grants Administration Office to ensure that fair housing laws are observed in Town sponsored housing programs.  The Housing Planning Analyst will refer fair housing complaints from residents to the Housing Education Resource Center and/or the Connecticut Fair Housing Center for additional assistance and/or services.

Questions or complaints may be directed to the Housing Education Resource Center, 901 Wethersfield Avenue, Hartford, CT 06114, (860) 296-4242, or the Connecticut Fair Housing Center, 221 Main Street, Suite 401, Hartford, CT 06106, (860) 247-4400.
