On Saturday, June 15, join the Commission for a trip to Amherst MA to visit Emily Dickinson’s home and museum, as well as her brother’s home The Evergreens. Included in the tour are:
- An in-depth focus on Emily Dickinson’s life and family and the major influences on her writing;
- The parlors, library, and the poet’s bedroom at the Homestead;
- The library, parlor, dining room, kitchen, maid’s room, water closet, nursery at The Evergreens.
- 8:30am – Depart from parking lot of East Hartford Cultural Community Center, 50 Chapman Place.
- Arrive in Amherst at 9:45am for tour at 10am. The tour lasts about 1 hour.
- After tour, enjoy free time to walk around and have lunch before returning to East Hartford at 2pm
