Salon Inspection and Licensing Information
The State of Connecticut has passed legislation concerning inspection oversight of barbershops, hairdressing shops, nail salons, and other salon services (including but not limited to those providing facials, hair waxing, hair braiding and eyebrow arching). Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Section 19a-231 and Sections 20-234 through Section 20-265, the East Hartford Health Department has developed a licensing and inspection program for salon establishments located in the Town.
Salon owners and operators can access on this website the license application form, the form and criteria East Hartford Health Department will utilize during annual inspections, and operation and infection control guidelines to help establishments to maintain a safe and healthy environment for salon services.
