Summer Family Fun
EHYS invites East Hartford families to join us for one or all of our Summer Family Fun events. These are all in-person and outside at our 50 Chapman Place office. To find us, look for the painted fence at the back of the building. These events are meant for the whole family and are not drop-off events for youth. Please plan for at least one adult to attend with the youth (no matter their age).
Registration guarantees an entry into that night's raffle & winners must be present at the time of drawing. Families can stop by without registration but we can't guarantee enough supplies. Please register, spread the word, and join us! :)
Creative Crafting

Join in the crafting fun! A variety of crafts will guarantee every family member finds at least one thing they're excited about!
Each craft will have all the supplies needed and directions, but we encourage you to make it your own. There's no wrong way to craft!! :)

Family Mindfulness

Mindfulness, simply put, is being focused on the present moment. This skill improves emotional awareness and reduces stress. A parent can help their child achieve mindfulness by modeling mindfulness themselves, or by teaching their child to focus on the present moment. Join us in exploring different activities that can be used at home - or anywhere else - to help build mindfulness skills. Families will leave having experienced multiple mindfulness activities, with a list of ways to practice mindfulness at home, and with items to start a quiet corner (a quiet, reflective space to take time to help you gather your emotions) in their homes.

La atención plena, en pocas palabras, se está enfocando en el momento presente. Esta habilidad mejora la conciencia emocional y reduce el estrés. Un padre puede ayudar a su hijo a lograr la atención plena modelando la atención plena ellos mismos o enseñándole a su hijo a concentrarse en el momento presente. Únase a nosotros para explorar diferentes actividades que se pueden usar en casa, o en cualquier otro lugar, para ayudar a desarrollar habilidades de atención plena.
