East Hartford Veterans Commission Gold Star Honor Roll Essay Scholarship Rules

  1. Open to:
    1. Residents of East Hartford who are:
      1. High School seniors and
      2. College Bound
  2. Biography is to be based on a person who is listed on East Hartford’s Gold Star Honor Roll.
  3. The biography cannot be based on a person whose biography has previously been selected for a scholarship.
  4. Biography will be judged based:
    1. Development of the human side of the subject,
    2. Factual references,
    3. Proper documentation and research.
  5. Award will be made by a committee appointed by the East Hartford Veterans Commission based on these rules.
  6. The award will be paid to the recipient upon documentation of enrollment as a student at an accredited college or university with a minimum enrollment of 6 credit hours.
