You're invited to a birthday party- Henry Hammond Ahl!

We're celebrating Henry Hammond Ahl's 150th birthday with a party on Saturday, December 7th. 
Mr. Ahl is a famous painter from East Hartford and even painted nature scenes here. ​Children, teens and adults are invited to draw him a birthday card and have a chance to have their card selected for our poster!
Materials to create a card will be available in the Children's Room or you can use your own! Submit your birthday card to the library before November 15th. Posters will include several works of art and will be available *free* at the library during this year's Holiday Fest, December 7th. (Posters will be available while supplies last.) Submissions should be no larger than 9" x 6". Artist's name, email and phone number should be included on the inside of the card. Artists will be notified in November if their work has been selected for inclusion on the poster. Artists can pick up their original art at the library between December 10-31, 2019.
