Take Your Child to the Library Day: Saturday, February 1

Child playing trombone

The East Hartford Public Library will mark “Take Your Child to the Library Day” on Saturday, February 1 with a fun lineup of programs for the whole family. Stop by to attend a program, choose a book to borrow, play a board game, make a craft, and learn more about what the library has to offer for children and families.

In the afternoon, bring your music explorer to the library to hear, see, touch, and play the instruments from the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. The Hartford Symphony’s Instrument Discovery lab will be here from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.

Kids will have a blast learning how playing a musical instrument is a whole-body experience. Instruments may include violin, viola, cello, recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, tuba, triangle, sleighbells, spoons, maracas, and more! This program is made possible through funding support from the Commission on Culture and Fine Arts. For all ages, no registration required.
