Dancin’ with Hoops
Monday, July 1, 6:30 – 7:30 PM
Musically fueled interactive hoop dancing entertainment designed to inspire and ignite creative movement, dance, exercise, self-expression, and cooperative play. Participants will learn basic waist hooping tricks, on and off body moves. Custom hula hoops will be available for use. All ages.

Eliud Sanchez from American Karate Centers will teach children and families how to stay safe and protect themselves! For ages 10 years and up.

Night Sky Viewing
Wednesday, July 17, 7:30 – 9:00 PM
A member of the Hartford Astronomical Society will be presenting an interactive lecture for families telling them what can be seen in the night sky in East Hartford during the summer. Following the lecture, we will go outside to view the night sky through a telescope! For everyone ages 8 and up. Registration is requested, click here to sign up.

What’s the East Hartford connection to the gunpowder made for the Continental Army during the American Revolution, and the first glassworks in Connecticut? What’s up with the balloon diorama on the first floor of the library, and why is there a jet engine model in the children’s room? Come learn about this and other nifty bits of East Hartford history.
