CT Kid Governor Ella Briggs Visits East Hartford Public Library

Ella Briggs in East Hartford

East Hartford, Ct—Did you know that Connecticut has a Kid Governor? Connecticut’s Kid Governor is elected through a statewide program for fifth graders. Created by the Connecticut Democracy Center, the program works with schools on civic education and involves kids in learning about state government, elections, and voting.

The East Hartford Public Library will host Ella Briggs, the 2019-2020 Kid Governor, on Wednesday, September 11 at 6:00 PM. Join us at the library to meet Ella, hear and learn more about her platform, and find out what she’s been working on since being elected.

Want to be the next Kid Governor? Learn about the program from a staff member at the library. Bring your questions for Ella, stay for a fun activity, and have your cameras ready for the meet-and-greet session to wrap up the visit. Adults, teens, and children are all welcome at this all-ages program (best suited for children ages 5 and up).
