Notices to Property Owners
Postcards Sent to Residential and Business Owners
In June, 2026, postcards were sent to the owners of residential and business property with wetlands, watercourse or an upland review area. The intent of the cards is to advise the owners that improvements on their property could require a permit per the Inland Wetland Regulations (which are now administered by the Planning & Zoning Commission). Review with Engineering Division staff is recommended for the following activities:
RESIDENTIAL
- Building a shed, deck or addition
- Installing a pool or patio
- Paving or widening a driveway
- Tree removal, grading or filling land
BUSINESS
- Building additions and outbuilding construction
- Utility line construction
- Paving or modifying a parking lot
- Tree removal, grading or filling land
HELPFUL RESOURCES
If using the Town GIS system, be sure to turn on the following layers:
- Upland Review Area
- Water Course
- Swamps/Marsh
- Wetland
Postcards will be sent to new residential and business owners each March and September.
