National Prescription Drug Take Back Day April 27th

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day April 27th

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 27th!  East Hartford residents are encouraged to clean out their medicine cabinets and remove all unused, unneeded, and expired medications. Removing these medications is a way to prevent medication misuse in our community and allows for the safe disposal of medications to protect our environment.

Allowable items for take back include: prescription medications, pills, capsules and caplets.

Items which cannot be collected include: I.V. bags, sharps (anything with a needle or lance), Epi-pens, patches, gels, medications in tubes and liquids.

Stop by the Public Safety Complex (31 School Street) on Saturday, April 27th from 10 AM to 2 PM to drop off unused, unneeded, and expired medications. If you are unable to participate on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, the Public Safety Complex has a 24/7 accessible Pharmaceutical Collection Drop Box located in the lobby for a convenient and secure location for residents to safely dispose of unwanted or expired household pharmaceuticals.
