Road Closure Alert- High Street On-Ramp (Exit 5A)

East Hartford, CT - The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the temporary ramp closure of the High Street On-Ramp (Exit 5A) to Route 2 Eastbound.

The temporary ramp closure of the High Street On-Ramp (Exit 5A) to Route 2 EB is necessary as part of the safety and operational improvements on Route 2 in East Hartford, Hartford, and Glastonbury. The temporary ramp closure is being implemented to safely facilitate the reconstruction of the ramp acceleration lane.

The High Street On-Ramp (Exit 5A) to Route 2 Eastbound will be closed through August 28, 2022, weather permitting. Traffic will be detoured onto Carter Street, then onto Main Street, then onto Maple Street, and finally onto Route 2 Eastbound.
