Virtual Programs resume at the Library!

Gwendolyn Queszaire-Presutti as Zora Neale Hurston

The East Hartford Public Library is back in business with virtual programs! After taking a hiatus to re-open our building for public access (see current services for more details) we are jumping back into programming with events for all ages beginning on September 30.

On Wednesday, September 30 at 6:30 PM, Disney fans of all ages are invited to join us for an evening of Disney trivia presented by Thomas Beebe, actor, teacher, and Disney expert. Participants will need two devices: one to access the Zoom event, and another to submit answers to the trivia questions through the Kahoot! app or website. Open to all ages. Registration is required. Register here.

On the 60th anniversary year of her death, come meet famed African-American author Zora Neale Hurston! East Hartford resident Gwendolyn Quezaire-Presutti will deliver a live interpretation of Hurston, discussing her life, writings, and legacy, on Thursday, October 1 at 6:30 PM. Best suited to adults and older teens. Registration is required. Register here.

In addition to these two special events, our popular "Stories and More" series will resume on September 30 on Wednesday mornings, now at a new time of 9:30 AM. Join us for fun with stories, games, fingerplays, music, and more! Have a scarf or something soft to wave and a shaker or something that makes noise handy to use. Best suited for ages 2 - 6 years old. Registration is required. Register for the September 30 session here.

If you are registering within 24 hours of a program, please e-mail the address indicated on the respective registration form. We will do our best to get you the Zoom link in advance of the program.

For upcoming program information, keep an eye on our website! We will be migrating soon to a new (and easier-to-use) calendar platform.
