On Thursday, May 25 at 7:00pm, the fifth and final installment in the Intersections Concert Series 2022 - 23 season will bring together Hispanic and Latin music traditions with modern, creative approaches to innovating those traditions. Please join us on Thursday, May 25 at 7:00pm at the wonderful new upstairs meeting room space at Wickham Memorial Library! The opening set will feature native Colombian guitarist and professor at New England Conservatory in Boston, Lautaro Mantilla, performing original reworkings of popular cumbia songs he grew up with in childhood.

A set by the East Hartford Middle School Global Jazz & Creative Music Ensemble will follow, and the closing set will be Dan O'Brien's Bloodroot ensemble, featuring New York City-based musicians, Ben Stapp (tuba) and Raf Vertessen (drums), Boston-based guitarist, Grant Beale, and Connecticut-based musicians, Rob Patrick (trumpet), Michael Larocca (drums) and Dan O'Brien (woodwinds). Several middle school students as well as Lautaro Mantilla will join Bloodroot to end the night and celebrate an incredible season of real-time, in-the-moment, intergenerational music-making here in East Hartford!

Each concert in the Intersections Concert Series features performances by professional musicians as well as student ensembles. Funding support for the Intersections Concert Series is provided by the East Hartford Commission on Culture and Fine Arts and the East Hartford Alumni Association and Education Foundation. For all ages. Register for a reminder.
