Intersections Concert Series Kicks Off

It won't be a quiet night at the library on Thursday, December 1 at 7 PM when the second floor at the Raymond Library in East Hartford will be transformed into a performance space to host the first in an inspiring series of concerts organized by East Hartford Public Schools music teacher Dan O’Brien. The Intersections Concert Series will feature performances by professional musicians as well as student ensembles.
 

The lineup for the first concert will include performances by the East Hartford High School World Drumming Ensemble (Greg Hoyt, director) and East Hartford Middle School Global Jazz & Creative Music Ensemble (Dan O’Brien, director), as well as jazz & improvising musicians from Boston, New York City, and Connecticut: 

  • Kelly Bray - trumpet (Boston)
  • Nathan Edwards - tenor saxophone (West Hartford)
  • Ben Stapp - tuba (NYC)
  • Grant Beale - guitar (Boston)
  • Michael Larocca - percussion (CT/NYC)
  • Dan O'Brien - saxophone, clarinet, flute (East Hartford)

Save the date for the second concert in the series, to be held on Thursday, January 19 at 7 PM in the Community Cultural Center auditorium (50 Chapman Place, East Hartford).

Funding support for the Intersections Concert Series is provided by the East Hartford Commission on Culture and Fine Arts and the East Hartford Alumni Association and Education Foundation.
