Intersections Concert Series April 27 graphic

On Thursday, April 27 at 7:00pm, the fourth installment in the Intersections Concert Series will highlight East Asian music and instruments in a special collaboration with Toshiko Uchino's Japan Week. Come out and join us at Wickham Library to hear a traditional Japanese koto performance by ethnomusicologist and Wesleyan University PhD student, Garrett Groesbeck, a short set by the East Hartford Middle School Global Jazz & Creative Music Ensemble, and a set of improvised music featuring NYC-based Korean gayageum player, DoYeon Kim, free jazz guitar legend, Joe Morris, Boston bassist, Brad Barrett, and East Hartford music teacher/woodwind player, Dan O'Brien. The music will span from traditional to cutting-edge, bringing together Eastern and Western approaches in our open, cross-generational sharing community.

The Wickham Library is located at 656 Burnside Avenue. For more information about Japan Week events, visit our website.
