East Hartford Public Library Offers Exciting Virtual Summer Programs

East Hartford, CT - The East Hartford Public Library is pleased to announce an exciting lineup of virtual programs for the months of June, July, and August. Enjoy our offerings from the comfort and safety of your own home!

Teen Advisory Board Meeting

Join the library’s Teen Advisory Board. We’re looking for new members to speak up and share ideas on what they want in their library! For entering grades 8 – 12. Register for the Zoom link by clicking on each date listed.
 
Marshmallow Animal Creations
Wednesday, June 16, 3:30 – 4:15
Who says marshmallows are only for toasting? Sign up to make some tasty creative creatures. If you want to do the event with us and catch up with your friends, we will host an optional Zoom meeting. Citrus Cork Coasters

Pencil Painting

Make and Mail a Card-a-Month

Let’s design garden sculptures! (Makerspace program)
Thursday, June 10, 6:00 PM
We’ll be creating four different cement garden sculptures that you can paint. Help us come up with a design and when the cement sculptures are ready, you get one to take home, paint, and plant in your garden! All you need is paper, pencils and your imagination. Enchanted Forest Book Nooks

Create a one-of-a-kind book nook diorama for your bookshelf with a glimpse into an enchanted forest using natural items and recycled materials. Each kit will include everything you need to create this scene, including fairy lights for a cozy glow. For teens and adults. Register here.

Small Business 101, How to Start, Grow, and Thrive: part 3 & 4
Tuesdays, June 22 & June 29, noon – 1 PM
Are you thinking of taking the next step and opening your own small business? Are you newly in business but need some support? These workshops will provide information for anyone interested in starting their own business or who has started a small business and wants to learn more about what it takes to be successful. Learn about help available for both aspiring and established small business owners. The programs are being hosted in partnership with East Hartford CONNects and the Town of East Hartford Development Department. Series presenters include the Small Business Administration, the Connecticut Small Business Development Center, Goodwin University, and the University of Hartford Women’s Business Center.
