The East Hartford Public Library is proud to host "Connecticut Women Artists, Inc.: Celebrating 92 Years! (1929 - 2021) - Invitational Exhibit" on display from October 22 to November 18, 2021.

Following on the Connecticut Women Artists’ successful exhibit of “Where are the Women?” at the University of St. Joseph during the summer of 2021, the East Hartford Public Library is pleased to host an invitational exhibit of works by members of the CWA during the months of October and November. Come see works by CWA members at the library during this time!

On Saturday, October 23, the library will host a meet-and-greet with artists from 10 am – 2 pm. Artists exhibiting their work at the show will be present during the day with whom the public may interact and ask questions:

  • 10:00 AM, Nancy Whitcher, Printmaker
  • 10:30 AM, Linda Boisvert DeStefanis, Painter
  • 11:00 AM, Carol Vinick, Fiber Artist
  • 11:30 AM, Mary Lachman, Mixed Media Artist
We will also have works from local artist and CWA co-founder Jessie Goodwin Preston hanging as well. This smaller exhibit includes pieces from the library’s holdings and loaned pieces from Preston’s niece, Jessie Slade.

“We are thrilled to be hosting this exhibit,” said library director Sarah Kline Morgan. “Connecting people to the vibrant art scene in Connecticut is part of our commitment to showcasing talent in various media.”

The exhibit may be viewed during the library’s normal hours: Monday and Friday, 9 am to 5 pm; Tuesday-Thursday, 9 am to 8 pm; and Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm. There is no charge.
