Burnside Church Street Brownfields Revitalization Advisory Committee

Burnside Mill

The East Hartford Burnside Church Street Brownfields Revitalization Advisory Committee was formed to guide a grant-funded study of how to best revitalize and redevelop Burnside Avenue – Church Street neighborhood, running south from Burnside Avenue along Church Street and Scotland Road to Roberts Street.  The Committee was created as a result of the Town’s $220,000 Brownfields Area-Wide Redevelopment (BAR) grant, awarded in July of 2024 by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD).  The purpose of the project is to create a comprehensive plan of the study area while identifying and studying the redevelopment potential of targeted brownfield sites. This plan will be based upon market, environmental, and engineering analyses over a 16-month period.  Colliers Engineering & Deisgn, Inc. of Madison, CT is assisting the Town in the development of the plan.
