Biography - Mayor Connor Martin

Mayor Connor S. Martin

Connor Martin accepted the oath of office as Mayor of the Town of East Hartford on November 13, 2023. 

Mayor Martin was born and raised in Hartford, CT, but has lived most of his life in East Hartford, CT. Prior to being elected as Mayor, he worked for the Town of East Hartford as the Chief of Staff to Mayor Mike Walsh, after completing a lengthy career at Goodwin University in East Hartford where he served as the Director of Grounds Keeping and Fleet Maintenance.

He is very passionate about civic engagement and community involvement, which has led him to participate in various community organizations, from being elected to the East Hartford Town Council to serving as Scholarship Committee Chairman for the East Hartford Rotary Club. He is also a proud 2019 Quest Alumni for Leadership Greater Hartford and has spent much of 2020 giving back by teaching in various programs for the Summer Bridge program at Goodwin University. It is Mayor Martin's mission to uplift and empower the younger generation because he believes, just like himself, that the younger generation are the next leaders of the world, simply because they have to be, and it is his desire to make sure they are ready. 

Mayor Martin was raised by his mother Lisa Martin and grew up with his late younger brother Caleb Martin. 

Mayor Martin is the Vice Chairperson of the East Hartford Democratic Town Committee and he was a former East Hartford Town Councilor and Commissioner for the Zoning Board of Appeals. He volunteers his time as the Scholarship Chairperson and board member for East Hartford Rotary and founding member of the Black Caucus .

He holds a Bachelor of Science – BS Organizational Leadership and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership & Management from Goodwin University. Mayor Martin believes community is about finding people that share the same dream as you for your community as a whole.
