Share Your Gratitude this Thanksgiving Holiday!

There are many reasons why Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. This beloved American holiday is filled with long-lived traditions.

Thanksgiving is a special day, when we embrace our difference, celebrate our diverse heritage and unite in gratitude with our friends and family. It reminds us to take a moment and reflect on everything that we have to be grateful for.

As we try to catch up with our busy schedules on a daily basis, often times, our gratitude goes unexpressed. Regardless of how hectic your life is, please pause for a moment and share your thanks with your loved ones. I firmly believe, if we take time to express our gratitude more often, the world would be a better, friendlier, and more civil place.

This year, we have a lot to be thankful for. As a community, we should be thankful for the many hard-working individuals who work tirelessly to make our town a better and more appealing place to live, work and raise a family. We should be thankful for our dedicated staff, who strive to meet the needs of our communities on a daily basis. Most of all, I am forever grateful for all the wonderful people who make up the fabric of our vibrant community, and thankful for their unceasing commitment and dedication to our town, making East Hartford such an exceptional place.

Lastly, I am thankful for having your trust in me. I am honored to serve as your Mayor, leading the community I was born and raised in, alongside an amazing team of dedicated people who get up each morning to make a difference. I am grateful to lead a community where home ownership is possible, where educational system is solid, and a tax rate is lower than surrounding communities, while providing significantly more services.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I encourage you to reflect on everything you are grateful for and express your thanks to those who bring you joy. Let’s make an extra effort this holiday season to make a difference. Happy Thanksgiving!
