Happy Independence Day!

Every Fourth of July I encourage all of our residents to take a moment to reflect on the birth of our country and the common history that binds our community together.

Independence Day is a time to celebrate and appreciate our freedoms, our history and the unique traits that form the fabric of our community.

This Fourth of July, I urge you to remember the bravery and ultimate sacrifice of the men and women who stood up for freedom and democracy that we are fortunate to exercise today. Please take a moment to reflect on our rich history, steeped in the American Revolution, and commemorate our citizens who fought honorably and with distinction for our freedom.

That same revolutionary spirit is still present in our community today.  East Hartford is a community that strives for continual improvement, renewal and growth. We maintain our small town character while growing to meet the needs of the future. We are both a great place to work and a great place to raise a family.

This Independence Day, as you recognize how far we have come as a nation and as a community, I encourage you to continue to look forward to the wonderful future that is ahead of us.
