Homebound Delivery

The East Hartford Public Library is pleased to offer Homebound Delivery Service free of charge to East Hartford residents who are permanently or temporarily homebound due to illness, disability, lack of transportation, or advanced age. Library items are dropped off and picked up by Library staff on a scheduled day each month.

Patrons requesting Homebound Delivery must:

  1. Be an East Hartford resident
  2. Be permanently or temporarily homebound
  3. Complete a Homebound Delivery Request form
  4. Have a viable means of contact: phone and/or email
  5. Have a valid East Hartford Library card (if not, we can make you one)
  6. Provide a safe and appropriate environment for staff to make their deliveries

Staff may choose to discontinue home delivery service to an individual if they feel the environment is not safe. Staff may deliver and pick-up home delivery materials through a contactless exchange outside of a main door. Due to demand, the Library may not be able to accept all interested applicants. A wait list will be kept.

To sign up for this service, complete the form or print and mail to East Hartford Public Library c/o Sandy DiCicco, 840 Main St., East Hartford, CT 06108.

If you have any questions or you need to apply for homebound delivery over the phone, please call 860-290-4342 and leave a message.
