East Hartford, CT— The East Hartford Youth Services Department continues to offer virtual and in-person services and programming. The department’s professional staff and interns offer confidential counseling to youth and their families in a wide variety of areas: individual and family counseling, youth counseling, relationship counseling, crisis intervention, parenting skills, substance abuse, grief/loss, anger/behavior management, stress management and coping skills, social-emotional skill-building, self-confidence/self-esteem/resilience building, and goal-setting/achievement.   • Zentangle
    October 4, 2022 - December 20, 2022
    6:00 – 7:00 PM
    Weekly via zoom on Tuesday nights.
    This is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. 
    There are no mistakes in Zentangle! Bring some Zen into your life through this fun, creative outlet.
    Appropriate for almost all ages. Younger folks will need more hands-on help/guidance.
    Great for families and individuals. Learn new tangles every week!!

  • Boys Council (In-Person Group) with Alex and Carlos - REGISTRATION CLOSED AS OF 10/20/22
    Boys 12 - 15 years of age
    Wednesdays from 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM  
    October 5, 2022 - December 14, 2022 
    Boys Council is a group approach to help boys explore and learn about themselves, others, and the world.  It creates a safe and fun environment for boys to talk about a variety of things relevant to their lives, gain perspective about themselves & others, learn skills for being healthy versions of themselves & better friends, and overall find community with other boys (and adult staff).    
    Both facilitators are bilingual (Spanish and English).  
    Group limited to 12 participants

  • Jr. Adventure Club (In-Person Group) with Mel, Melanie and Lissette - REGISTRATION CLOSED AS OF 10/20/22
    All youth 7 - 11 years of age
    Wednesdays from 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM  
    October 5, 2022 - December 14, 2022
    A social-emotional learning group that uses experiential education to help youth learn and practice important life skills.  Experiential education is an activity-based learning model to allow participants to actively use skills while having fun.  Participants will work on:  building confidence, cooperation, teamwork, creativity, trust, decision-making, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
