Over 600 Children Attended East Hartford Parks and Recreation’s Boo Bash

Boo Bash

Hundreds of children had a spooktacular time at the annual Boo Bash event, held at the East Hartford Parks and Recreation Department on October 28.

The Boo Bash is a festive Halloween party for children who are in grades 5 and under. This year the event had a significant turnout with over 600 children in attendance.

Dressed as princesses and police officers, wonder women and spider men—children had the most fun making slime, decorating cookies and engaging in a variety of family-friendly activities.

The all-time favorite was the new “monster cookie decorating” activity which offered colorful frosting, sprinkles and more for kids to decorate with. Among other activities were a variety of crafts such as coloring and beading, inflatable slide and a bounce house, photo booth, pumpkin decorating, face painting and glitter tattoos and so much more.

But it wouldn’t be true Halloween without trick-or-treating. Therefore, children had an opportunity to engage in their favorite activity at the Parks and Recreation Department building, where a number of trick-or-treating stations were set up with thousands of pieces of children’s most favorite candy.

Additionally, South Congregational United Church of Christ surprised us on Sunday morning with a very large donation of candy left over from their Saturday Fall Festival / Trunk or Treat which we distributed as well

Nearly 40 volunteers, mostly from East Hartford High School, assisted with various activities throughout the event.

The Town of East Hartford and the East Hartford Parks and Recreation Department would like to thank everyone who attended and volunteered. We already look forward to next year’s Boo Bash!
