Outdoor Pools Open for the Season

East Hartford’s five outdoor pools are open for the season! Mayor Marcia Leclerc announced a schedule of three sessions of summer swim lessons. Sessions cost $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents.

Each session lasts two weeks for a total of eight lessons, Monday through Thursday. The first session runs from June 27 – July 7, the second July 11-21, and the third July 25-August 4. Classes are offered for Waterbabies (6 months – 3 years), Preschool (ages 4&5), and six levels of ability for ages 6 and up. There are also adult swim lessons and semi-private lessons available.

In addition, a number of other aquatic recreation opportunities are being offered this summer. There will be two summer splash parties with pool games, arts, crafts and music:  Sunday, July 22 at Lord Pool, 1-4PM, and Friday, July 28 at Martin Pool, 5-7:30PM. The Little Splashers Playgroup meets seven days a week at Martin and Lord Wading pools from 1-2PM. Finally, several sessions of Aqua Zumba are offered.

The Town has five outdoor pools, Terry (located at Hockanum Park), Martin (Martin Park), Drennan (McAuliffe Park), Lord (Gorman Park), and Gold Star (Goodwin Park). The indoor pool at the High School is open year round. The indoor pool is closed on Friday evenings through the end of August. All outdoor pools are open on July 4th from 1:00 - 5:00 PM.
