East Hartford Introduces a New Contest to Support Local Businesses
East Hartford, CT— The Town of East Hartford is pleased to announce another contest to encourage area residents to support local businesses. The “East Hartford Shops” will reward a total of twelve lucky winners with a $50 gift card to an East Hartford retailer or restaurant of their choice! Participants may enter by providing proof of purchase from an East Hartford retailer or restaurant, excluding grocery and convenience stores, of at least $10. The purchase must be made during the week of your entry. The contest begins on Monday, December 7, 2020.
There will be three winners per week, and participants may enter once a week. The contest is part of the Town’s continuing efforts to remind the community of the importance of supporting local businesses whenever possible, especially as the coronavirus pandemic continues to present increasing challenges. Businesses are depending on continued support from patrons in order to remain open far into the future.
The Holidays are a great opportunity purchase gifts from East Hartford retailer, or to enjoy a meal from one of the town’s many restaurants. Participants are reminded to continue to practice social distancing and take advantage of options including curbside pickup, takeout, or online ordering. Online receipts will be accepted, but participants must ensure that they are from a business located exclusively in East Hartford or clearly show an East Hartford business address.
Local residents are encouraged to support their community by sharing the contest and their favorite East Hartford businesses on social media using the #EastHartfordShops hashtag. To show additional support, participants are encouraged to upload a photo/selfie taken at their favorite local business or with a new purchase, along with your entry to be shared on our website and social media channels.
