Bridging Freedom - a Juneteenth Celebration
The Town of East Hartford and The City of Hartford invite all to attend the first-ever joint municipal Juneteenth Celebration, titled "Bridging Freedom." The event, spanning both sides of the Connecticut River, will take place Saturday, June 20, from 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., uniting communities at Hartford's Mortensen Riverfront Plaza and East Hartford's Great River Park for a full day of culture and celebration.
The daylong celebration will activate the waterfront with an extensive lineup of live programming, including spectacular mainstage performances from regional recording artists, dynamic live stage shows, and sets from the Hartford region’s premier DJs. Families from across both towns can look forward to a wide array of hands-on activities, interactive storytelling experiences, and a vibrant community marketplace showcasing Black-owned businesses, local crafters, and food trucks featuring African cuisine.
