American Red Cross offering Free Fire Alarms

Helping save lives, one household at a time

The American Red Cross and its community partners have launched an initiative that aims to reduce deaths and injuries caused by home fires by 25% in five years with the Home Fire Campaign.

The Red Cross is asking every household in America to join us in taking two simple steps that can save lives: checking or installing smoke alarms and practicing fire drills at home.

Red Cross teams are ready to install free smoke alarms and share fire safety information. You do not need to own your home to be eligible. If you need smoke alarms and fire preparedness information, request a visit
at http://www.redcross.org/ct/schedule-a-visit

The presence of working smoke alarms in your home could cut the risk of someone dying from a home fire in half.

Fire takes everything. It takes security. It takes safety, dignity and routine. Help the Red Cross give back what fire takes - the items that provide safety and comfort. You can also give a gift that enables the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters.
