East Hartford Hosts Farmers’ Market Pop-Ups!
The Town of East Hartford is excited to announce two pop-up farmers’ markets on Thursday, November 7th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Alumni Park (1047 Main St.) and Wednesday, November 20th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Raymond Memorial Library (840 Main St.). East Hartford is partnering with End Hunger CT! and Killam & Bassette Farmstead to offer a last chance for residents with Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) benefits to use their benefits before the programs expire on November 30th.
“Our pop-up farmers’ market last year was so successful that we want to offer residents two pop-up opportunities this year to expend their remaining Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program and WIC benefits before they expire on November 30th,” said Director of Health and Human Services, Laurence Burnsed.
Residents with SFMNP will need to bring their issued EBT card. Residents with WIC benefits will need to bring their phone to access their benefits from the SoliMarket app or bring their issued EBT card. In addition to accepting SFMNP and WIC benefits, Killam & Bassette Farms will be able to accept cash, credit, and Venmo.
For more information about the farmers’ market pop-up and your remaining SFMNP or WIC benefits, please visit the EH market website or call social services at (860) 291-7248.
