Support EHPD K-9 Team in the Competition!

K9 Capo and Rivera

The East Hartford Police Department's K-9 team, Officer Juan Rivera and his partner K-9 Capo are thrilled to be able to participate in the Law Enforcement SUV Giveaway hosted by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

Vested Interest in K9s is a nonprofit organization with the mission to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs in law enforcement and related agencies throughout the country. EHPD's K-9 Capo received a bullet-proof vest from Vested Interest Inc. in July of 2018, which now ensures his safety during his assignments. Eligible law enforcement agencies entered the Vested Interest Inc.'s contest between August 22, 2018 and September 20, 2018 and our team Rivera-Capo entered the contest. However, now they need your help to be able to win. The voting takes place online. Those who wish to vote should go HERE, go to "entrant gallery vote," enter their email address and select the photo of our team, then scroll down and click "vote." it is possible to vote once a day, every day, one vote per email to support our team. The contest will end on October 31, 2018 and the grand prize winner will receive a customized Chevrolet Tahoe for the agency.

K9 Capo is a 3-year-old German Shepherd from Slovakia certified and primarily used for tracking and criminal apprehension. Capo is one of three K-9’s on patrol in East Hartford, and he recently began his third year on, assigned to “day-shift” with his handler, veteran Officer Rivera. Capo has already helped in tracking and apprehending several criminals, as well as assisted with locating missing persons within East Hartford and surrounding communities.
