Is 3D printing available at the library?

The library has two Makerbot Fifth Generation 3D printers available for use. The print charge is 5 cents per grams of filament used. This charge covers the cost of the plastic filament. Use of the 3D printer is available by appointment only; the printer needs time to be prepared for a print job, and staff may not be able to assist you if you walk-in without making prior arrangements to print. Your files need to be saved to a USB drive in .stl format.

Monthly classes are offered for an introduction to 3D printing; check our program calendar for dates and times.

The library reserves the right to deny use of the 3D printer. No print jobs may run overnight. All print files must be approved by library staff. Email rlivaich@easthartfordct.gov to arrange time to use the printer.
