You are invited: American St. Nick
East Hartford, CT - You are invited to attend our upcoming FREE World War II Christmas Event. The World War II Legacy Foundation is presenting an event as part of the East Hartford Holiday Fest 2023.
The FREE event takes place Saturday, December 2nd at the East Hartford Public Library at 840 Main Street, East Hartford, CT 06108. It will be in the large conference room in the lower level. The program begins at 11:00 am and runs for about 2 hours.
Author, Peter Lion, will be telling us the story of the "American St. Nick". Peter researched this TRUE WWII event which originally took place in Wiltz, Luxembourg. American GI's brought Christmas to this war torn town that was devastated by the Nazis just before the Battle of the Bulge. He will also be showing a documentary about the event and how it is still celebrated today.
We will also have refreshments available along with military displays related to the historic event and time period. A few lucky attendees may win door prizes. Peter Lion will have copies of his books available for signing. There may also be a visit by "St Nick" himself.
