Winter Vacation Offerings from the East Hartford Public Library

East Hartford, CT— Celebrate your winter stay-cation with offerings from the East Hartford Public Library!

Looking for a good book or movie?

Circulation services are available via our walkup window, located on the Central Avenue side of the building. Drop in during library open hours to get a library card (or update your old card), check out books, DVDs, and music, or pick up a craft kit (for all ages). Masks and social distancing are required. Request materials for pickup at the walkup window in one of three ways:

  • Over the phone: call us at 860-290-4330 to request materials. We will take your request and pull the materials (maximum 10 items, please).
  • Via our library catalog: log into your account and place holds on the items you wish to pick up (no limit). When you receive the "holds available" notice via e-mail, you may pick them up at your convenience during our open hours.
  • Via our "Book Selection Service." Don't have a specific title in mind? We can help! Fill out a form to tell us a little bit about what you're looking for, and our expert staff will help you to find good reads. To request materials for an adult, click here. Virtual programs for the whole family!

Register for one of our virtual programs and we will send you the Zoom link the day before the program. Our virtual programs are free of charge and open to residents of any town. For a complete list of library virtual programs, check out our website.

  • Best Ever Pet Show 

Tuesday, December 29, 3:00—4:00 PM

Who's got the best pet? You do! Get ready to show us your pet and tell us all about them. How did you get your pet? How do you care for them? What's the best thing about having your pet? Sign up to join us for a chance to give your pet a shout out! Best for families of all ages. Register here.

  • Teen Program: Snowpeople Cupcakes
    Wednesday, December 30, 3:30—4:00

Pick up supplies from the library in advance for a fun craft. This week we are decorating snowpeople cupcakes! If you want to do the craft with us and catch up with your friends we will host an optional Zoom meeting. Call 860.290.4330 to request supplies to pick up. Grades 6-12. Register here.

  • Family Noon Year's Eve Celebration

Thursday, December 31, 11:00 AM—noon

Ring in 2021 with a fun virtual celebration. We'll make hats, noisemakers, and more then countdown to noon! Register to pick up a celebration kit in advance. Best for families of all ages. Register here.

 

The East Hartford Public Library is located at 840 Main St., East Hartford, CT. The library is open for computer appointments and walk-up window service on Mondays and Fridays from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, and Tuesdays – Thursdays from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
