East Hartford, CT— Tropical Storm Elsa is expected to make landfall in Connecticut Friday morning, July 9th, bringing heavy rain to the entire state. At this time, total rainfall is forecast to range from 3 to 5 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. In some instances, heavy rain showers may cause flash flooding in certain areas. Please avoid driving through standing water and flooded areas.

Should the weather escalate, causing storm-related damage, there are several ways to report the following non-life-threatening issues:

  • Storm Debris: Downed trees, trees on wires, trees in roadways or in/onto buildings, or debris/trees that pose a hazard, but are not life threatening, should be reported to emergency services at 860-528-4401 or via My East Hartford. When in doubt, call 911.
  • Street Lights: Please report all street light outages through our platform My East Hartford. 
  • Power Outages: Please report all power outages directly to Eversource 800-662-7764 or at this link https://outage.eversource.com/#/.
