Thank you to All of Our Sponsors and Volunteers Who Made Mayor's Cleanup Possible
Throughout my tenure of public service to the Town of East Hartford, I have especially focused on ways to keep the community an attractive, vibrant and engaged place to live and work.
This past Saturday, on May 18, I was proud to witness the community come together for the benefit of the Town of East Hartford during the annual Mayor’s Cleanup Day. This year, the event gathered 250 volunteers who put in the hard work and effort to clean up and beautify a portion of Burnside Avenue. Together, we rid the area of litter, cleaned, mulched and planted areas at the entrance to Mayberry Village, the bus stops and surrounding neighborhoods including Labor Park and the Hockanum Trail. The event was, once again, a great success, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the overwhelming generosity of our event sponsors, including Pratt & Whitney, Coca-Cola, Franchisee Mohammed Islam of Domino’s Pizza in East Hartford, Augie and Rays, D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel and the East Hartford Gazette. I would also like to extend my gratitude and appreciation to the many organizations, businesses and community groups that rallied their membership and employees to come out and volunteer their time and efforts to this annual community project.
This year, among many community groups, businesses and organizations that took part in the Mayor’s Cleanup event were:
Agape Fellowship
Calvary Congregational Methodist Church
St. Isaac Jogues Church
DATTCO
East Hartford Women’s Club
East Hartford St. Patrick Day Committee
Engineers without Borders
Girl Scouts of Connecticut
Goodwin College
East Hartford Lions Club
Iglesia Fuente Salvacion Misionera, Inc.

River Guardians of Hartford
Riverfront Recapture, Inc.
STICH AmeriCorps

The East Hartford community has a long and proud history of working together toward a common goal and I am very proud of all the wonderful people who make up the fabric of our community. Please know, your commitment to the betterment of the Town of East Hartford doesn't go unnoticed!
