Summer Teen STEM Programs at the East Hartford Public Library

East Hartford, CT—Attention, teens and tweens! Are you interested in science, technology, engineering, and/or math? Join us for two weeks of STEM programming in July, free of charge.

The STEM Diversity camp will run on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, July 8, 10, & 12 from 1:00 – 4:30 PM. Sign up for one, two, or all three days, and hear from a diverse group of STEM professionals, including representatives from the medical, engineering, and scientific fields. Learn about careers, conduct hands-on activities, and get excited about a future in STEM! The STEM Diversity camp is presented in partnership with the Ga Dangbe Association of Connecticut. For entering grades 7 – 12.

On Thursday, July 9, Marilynn Cruz-Aponte, Assistant Director of Public Works for the Town of East Hartford, will discuss opportunities for STEM Careers in Public Works from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the library. Learn about career paths and meet a member of her staff with a focus on engineering. For ages 10 – 18. Please register.

The following week, the library will host a LEGO Mindstorms camp, Monday – Friday, July 15 – 19, from 10:30 AM – noon. Love playing with LEGOs? Leslie Goff will be here at the library to help you work as a team to build, code, and operate LEGO robots using LEGO Mindstorms kits! For ages 10 – 18. Registration is required.
