Social Services Collecting Holiday Donations for Children

toy collection

The East Hartford Social Services Department is once again collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys to distribute to pre-screened children in need, ages ranging from newborns to 10 years old, during the upcoming holiday season.

Especially needed are gifts for 7-10-year-old girls. Suggestions include: arts & crafts kits, jewelry making kits & make-up kits. Also needed are new hats, scarves, gloves & mittens for all age groups (0-10, boys & girls).  Monetary donations are also accepted and appreciated to use towards the purchase of “filler” items.

Checks should be made payable to “Special Program” and mailed or dropped off in the Social Services Department, lower level of Town Hall, 740 Main Street, East Hartford 06108.  All monetary donations are tax-deductible. Donations of toys, hats, etc. may also be dropped off in Social Services and are requested by Monday, December 2nd, to enable sufficient time to sort and pack.  Any questions can be directed to Jo-Ann Dorn, Program Supervisor @ 860-291-7285 or jdorn@easthartfordct.gov
