Riverfront Recapture Fireworks: Saturday, July 13, 9 p.m.

This year's Riverfront Fireworks will follow an evening of music, laughter and exciting events on both sides of the river. The night of celebration will kick off on July 13 with a concert on either side of the river at 7 p.m.Then, Connecticut’s Largest Independence Day Fireworks Display will light up the sky at 9 p.m. For more information, visit Riverfront Recapture.

Just a short hop over Founders Bridge from Great River Park, the Food Truck Festival will run for three days from July 11-13 at 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Riverfront Fireworks Travel Impacts for East Hartford

Riverfront Fireworks are back for 2019 with an amazing fireworks show over the Connecticut River starting at 9:00 PM. Motor-vehicle travel on the following East Hartford town roads will be restricted beginning at approximately 6:00 PM:

East River Drive (portions will be closed)
East River Drive Extension
Jayce Street
Hartland Street (portions will be closed)
Ash Street
Meadow Street (portions will be closed)
Pitkin Street (portions will be closed)
Blinn Street
May Street
June Street

Also, the following East Hartford Highway ramps will be closed at 7:00 PM:

Route 2 Westbound:
Exit 3 (Pitkin Street)
Darlin Street exit, on approach to the Founders Bridge

Route 2 Eastbound:
Pitkin Street exit, from Founders Bridge

I-84 Eastbound
Exit 53 (Connecticut Blvd., East River Drive)

I-84 Westbound
To Charger Oak Bridge/Rt. 5 & 15 Westbound, East River Drive Ext. (Exit 90)
All closures / traffic restrictions will remain in effect for the duration of the event.
