East Hartford, CT– The East Hartford Public Library is pleased to offer three new databases for resident cardholders, all on the EBSCOhost platform.

EBSCO Job & Career Accelerator & Computer Skills™ has the powerful tools and expert guidance through every step of the process. Job & Career Accelerator™ puts everything you need to land a job in one place. You can explore over 1,000 different occupations, discover the career that’s best for you, search local and national job and internship postings, create professional resumes and cover letters, practice and master interviewing skills, get valuable job-search tips and advice at every step, and organize and track your job-search progress.

The Computer Skills Center™ offers courses from computer basics to help on using email, social media, printers, safe online usage, and manipulating files & programs.

“Library usage is a critical component in literacy and educational success, and these resources provide valuable support,” said Mayor Marcia Leclerc.

Have you ever finished a great book and wanted to find more just like it? Or wanted to help your child find just the right book to read? NoveList Plus and NoveList K-8 Plus, two helpful resources to help readers match up with the books that are right for them. The NoveList Plus database connects readers to their next book by making recommendations for what to read next. In addition to print and ebooks, the newly-added suggestions for audiobooks will intrigue readers who enjoy this format. By identifying the right books for every reader, it helps younger readers achieve reading success. Teens and adults also can find reading materials best suited to their interests.

“Providing job assistance and computer training are two of our key offerings to our patrons,” said Library Director Sarah Kline Morgan. We are thrilled that we can offer these two databases to our patrons to further assist in these regards.”

The resources are available at https://www.easthartfordct.gov/library/digital-resources. An East Hartford library card is required for access. Residents can get a library card by visiting us in person on Monday and Friday between 10 – 4, Tuesday through Thursday between 10—7, and Saturday from 10 – 12 or 2 – 4 at our walkup window.
